Gadgets » Color Chooser
This color chooser gadget is a handy little web developer tool that allows you to choose a color by either using the RGB slider controls or entering numbers to the text boxes. It also functions as a RGB-to-Hex or Hex-to-RGB color converter.
[...] I decided to create this Color Chooser gadget a couple days ago after updating the Tree Frog Google gadget. That update allows users to enter custom hex colors to color the parts of the tree frog. With the Color Chooser gadget, you can find just the color you are looking for by adjusting the red, green, and blue values with the slider controls or by entering numbers from 0-255 in the text boxes. When you see a color you like, copy the hex value from the HTML Notation text box and paste it into the Custom Color text boxes of the Tree Frog gadget or where ever else you may want to use it. Hi Kristian,
These are the additive primary colors. You are referring to the subtractive primary colors. Here are some orange colors:
255 165 0 ffa500 orange1
238 154 0 ee9a00 orange2
205 133 0 cd8500 orange3
139 90 0 8b5a00 orange4
255 127 0 ff7f00 DarkOrange1
238 118 0 ee7600 DarkOrange2
205 102 0 cd6600 DarkOrange3
139 69 0 8b4500 DarkOrange4

Zowie Color Master! You sure are tech-knowledgable about colors! I totally get why the above noter is confused, I was wondering where yellow was-but then found it in green! HA! I just have fun playing with the colors. Thanks for the toy!

When I use it, I can’t copy and paste the codes for the colors any more. It’s becoming annoying, having to memorize the numbers and edit my frog before I forget them. Also, I liked it when you could slide the things up and down, but now it moves in jurky movements. Other wise, I love your gadgets!!!!

I have a suggestion; upon saving a selected colour to the palette, you currently only check for equality against the last added colour. i.e. only add this colour to palette if not same as last added colour.
For example:
last added: FF0000 (red)
2nd last added: FFFFFF (white)
In this scenario if the current/working colour is FFFFFF, you can still add it even though it is already in your palette.
I think it might be better if you did a check against every colour in the existing palette and not just the last added one. Nice app btw, reminds me of the photoshop picker I use.

HEY EVERYONE:
THIS WORKS GREAT WITH STINGRAY! JUST COPY AND PASTE THE COLOR CODE INTO THE “CUSTOM COLOR” THING AND IT WORKS REALLY WELL! I HAVE STINGRAYS WHOSE COLORS ARE BRIGHT GREEN, HOT PINK, ROBIN’S EGG BLUE, DARK RED, AND TANGERINE ORANGE.
IT’S THE K00LEST!
