This lively pet hamster will keep you company throughout the day. Watch him run on his wheel, drink water, and eat the food you feed him by clicking your mouse. Click the center of the wheel to make him get back on it.
Click the edit settings link above to customize the hamster. When you are finished, click the “Add to Google” button or a button in the Clearspring menu to add your customized gadget to a webpage/desktop or to share it with a friend.

The hamster is amazing - means I can have a small and furry on my desktop at work even though my real one is asleep in my flat at home! One suggestion though … would it be possible to set it so it rolls up and goes to sleep if left un-attended for a while? Call me over sentimental (it is after all just computer code!) but if a hamster didn’t sleep and ran on its wheel all the time it would soon die.

The hamster now sleeps if you leave him alone for 5 minutes. I’m probably going to make it so that you can adjust that time.
It would be great if you could adjust time!
And another suggestion: it’d be nice if the hamster would breathe when it sleeps…

I LOVE this. Really calming. You should make it bigger, like in a cage with ramps and such.
Its cool but i think it needs better roaming ground.
I used to raise hamsters for the local pet store, and I even find this cute…no cages to clean….ya gotta love him!

I love this hamster and that you can customize the cage and all. I would love if the hamster could turn over and you could pet it’s tummy. I would also love if there could be different types of cages. Like maybe one with other ramps or a cute little bed for it to sleep in.

If you are on Vista, you can install it to the sidebar through the Clearspring menu. You can also install it to your desktop using Yahoo Widgets or Google Desktop. To add it to Google Desktop, paste this address:

to the add gadget search box and then click on the Hamster icon.
This hampster hits a lot of buttons on me that make me relaxed. It captures the parts of watching a hampster that make me happy and remind me of my hammies at home.
This is a huge relief for me at the office. Thank you so much for making this.
Your hamster app is amazing and fascinating. Perhaps a little suggestion, maybe make the water bottle more interactive, for example needing to fill it up? Or, as the hamster drinks from it, little air bubbles rise to the top. Etc.
